It has been almost three years since Eddie Van Halen passed away, yet fans are still waiting for a tribute concert to honor the rock icon. While every living member of Van Halen has discussed the possibility of a tribute concert, still nothing has been announced. Now, Wolfgang Van Halen has revealed “drama” between bandmates is preventing the show from occurring.

Dysfunction within Van Halen has been as big a part of the band’s history as their music, so it shouldn’t be surprising some members still don’t like each other. However, many fans thought the passing of Eddie Van Halen would help mend fences. Sadly, that is not the case as Eddie Van Halen’s son, Wolfgang Van Halen, recently claimed these issues are what is preventing the band from putting on a tribute concert.

In a recent interview, Wolfgang said “unfortunately, with Van Halen there's many pieces that don't operate as they should, unfortunately. But that's neither here nor there; it's just how reality is, unfortunately, sometimes." According to Blabbermouth, the tribute concert was first teased back in April 2022, when former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted revealed he was contacted by Alex Van Halen to be a part of the show. Maybe one day the band will get passed the drama, and give fans and Eddie Van Halen the tribute they deserve.
