There seems to have been an inordinate number of planes falling apart while in the middle of the air.  Doors flying open, panels flying off the side; flying is already stressful enough without having to worry about the plane falling apart in the middle of your flight.

Unfortunately, passengers heading to Texas from Denver experienced such a fright, after one of the engine covers on their plane flew off and struck a wing in the middle of takeoff.

Hey, at least they weren't in the air, right?

According to the Dallas Morning News, the Boeing 737 was able to make a safe emergency landing back in Denver, and passengers heading to Houston were put on another aircraft.

Southwest Airlines said in a statement, "We apologize for the inconvenience of their delay, but place our highest priority on ultimate Safety for our Customers and Employees. Our Maintenance teams are reviewing the aircraft."
