Texans were able to make it through the great egg shortage of 2025, only to be greeted in 2026 by a shortage of the beloved mineral water Topo Chico.

According to WFAA, “facility upgrades at the water source and production facilities in Mexico” have led to nationwide shortage of Topo Chico, something Coca-Cola, the owner of the brand, hopes they will be able to rectify shortly.

A spokesperson said in an email, “As always, safety and quality are the company's top priorities. We aim to have Topo Chico Mineral Water back later this year.”

The unavailability of Topo Chico could stretch well into the summer, but the company hopes to have the drink back on store shelves by July.

Officials said the shortage only affects the Topo Chico Mineral Water, and other Topo Chico drinks remain available in the United States.
