Fort Worth has grown quite a bit in recent years, and it appears that will continue as city officials are now looking at the future of one of the area's most popular destinations. Earlier this week, the city of Fort Worth announced they have hired a consulting firm to help guide the future of Panther Island. Now, HR&A Advisors will team with the city to help figure out what Panther Island's next steps should be.

For decades, Fort Worth city officials have discussed what to do with Panther Island. Of course, it all starts with turning the peninsula into an actual island, but after receiving $403 million from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to help flood control efforts along the Trinity River, the city believes the next steps are ready to be taken. "Now what we're looking at is assistance from HR&A Advisors to give us project management as well as team consultation services so that we can plot what the future is going to look like," said Fort Worth City Councilman Carlos Flores.

While there are currently a number of businesses on Panther Island, it is unknown what could be there in the future. According to CBS DFW, the hope is that these next steps could help make it one of Fort Worth's top destinations. Soon, even more parts of Fort Worth will be unrecognizable.
