Two years ago, Fort Worth woman Ana Moss was diagnosed as being legally blind. She told NBC DFW that upon her diagnosis, it “kind of changed a lot of things and made me feel like, who am I without my vision, you know? Where do I go from here?”
Well, two years later, Moss is training for something she never thought she’d do: the T20 World Cup for the Blind.
Moss has recently been selected to join the first-ever U.S. National Blind Cricket team, where players track the ball by the sound of a rattle inside.
"I get asked so many questions; well, how can you do that? You're blind,' she said. "Just because you're blind doesn't mean you can’t do something. In fact, that gives me a little more fire under to say, watch me!"
She's been training at CricKingdom in Fort Worth with her coach, Prashant Kamble, who said "I think they need more focus than the regular cricketer.
“If you ask me or any other cricketer, for me this is the best sport in the world!"
In October, Moss will travel to India for the first-ever T20 World Cup for the Blind tournament, which begins on November 11th.
