Everyone thinks they have a million dollar idea in them, but most never attempt to turn those ideas into an actual business. Luckily, Fort Worth’s Sundance Square is looking to help turn some of those thoughts into reality with their initiative looking for entrepreneurs to partner with. Last year, the mixed use development brought in five new retailers through the pilot program, and now they are looking to add up to 12 more.
Last year, Sundance Square launched a pilot program looking to find “the next big idea,” giving aspiring entrepreneurs space to start a small business in one of the busiest areas in DFW. According to Dallas Morning News, Sundance Square attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, and now the 37-square-block mixed-use development wants to continue helping entrepreneurs throughout the metroplex. “(The initiative) is really kind of bringing in people who maybe economically didn’t have the kind of startup capital to start a business, but they may have had a good business plan or a good product,” said Sundance Square spokesman Bryan Eppstein.
Applications for the program will be accepted until April 18th. Those selected will receive; a one-year lease, opportunities to take part in other Sundance initiatives, a support team, potential access to seed money and an established customer base. With this program, those million dollar ideas may finally become a reality.
