Eddie Van Halen may have passed away in 2020, but fans remain as intrigued as ever by the late guitarist. Now, a new book about Van Halen is set to be released this spring, and fans can expect plenty of never before heard stories. Written by Eddie Van Halen's longtime friend and confidante Steve Rosen, the book goes through the 26 year friendship journey the two experienced together.
Renowned music writer Steve Rosen and late guitarist Eddie Van Halen spent years discussing potential biography collaboration. While that idea was eventually shelved, Rosen has now decided to self-publish the book to give fans "an honest and up-close look at what it was like to be friends with the greatest guitar player on the planet." According to Louder Sound, the author began writing the book six weeks before Van Halen's death.
"I didn't know where I was going or where it would take me, but I wrote every day for over a year and it was the hardest stuff I'd ever written," said Rosen. 'Tonechaser - Understanding Edward: My 26-Year Journey with Edward Van Halen' is currently available for pre-order and will be released in the spring. Hopefully Van Halen fans are ready.
