When it was first announced HBO would be releasing a documentary about Woodstock ’99, fans knew they could expect plenty of chaos. Now, HBO has unveiled the first trailer for the film, and fans definitely got what they expected. ‘Woodstock 99: Peace, Love and Rage’ is set to start streaming on HBO Max later this month, but after seeing this trailer fan anticipation is at an all-time high.

Directed by Garret Price, ‘Woodstock 99: Peace, Love and Rage’ will give fans a look back at the ill-fated 1999 edition of Woodstock in New York. The documentary features commentary by Woodstock organizers Michael Lang and John Scher, Moby, The Roots’ Black Thought, Korn’s Jonathan Davis, members of The Offspring and more. “How did an iconic celebration of harmony descend into mayhem? Woodstock 99, the first film in Bill Simmons’ Music Box HBO series, examines how the festival collapsed under the weight of its own misguided ambition,” reads a synopsis of the film.

According to NME, the Woodstock film will be the first in the ‘Music Box’ documentary series coming to HBO. Other documentaries will feature Alanis Morissette, Kenny G, DMX and Juice WRLD. Hopefully after seeing this documentary, dreams of another Woodstock are crushed forever.
