Saying the term "dog park" in front of one's canine companion usually sends them into a spinning rage of excitement. While some only take their dog to the park as a pick up line, others enjoy watching as their dog takes advantage of the open space. Now, a new report has ranked one DFW city in their top 10 best dog park cities, with several others making the top 100, giving the metroplex plenty of places for dog fun.
Lawnstarter recently unveiled their list of the best dog park cities in the country. Their study "compared 93 of the biggest U.S. cities based on dog park access, quality, and climate" to come up with the top cities. Based on their results, Irving ranked as the 7th best dog park city in the country.
Along with Irving, Lubbock also made the top 10, taking the final spot. Laredo (39), Corpus Christi (41), Arlington (44), Austin (51), Houston (56), San Antonio (59), Fort Worth (60), Dallas (82), Plano (85) and Garland (88) also made the list. According to CW33, San Francisco ranked as the top dog park city in the country. However, with multiple cities in the top 100, clearly Texas is as dog friendly as it gets.
