It was a busy day for the Irving police department Tuesday.  Officers received back-to-back calls regarding subjects on the loose that needed to be caught.

They weren't criminals, though.  The subjects on the loose were a goat, and a peacock.

According to WFAA, Officer Turner was first called to a goat loose near TX-183 and Esters Road.  Initially, he thought it to be an April Fools' joke.  He arrived at the scene, found out the goat situation as real, and used a good Samaritan's french fries to wrangle the goat in.

The goat was handed over to the county once caught.

Not 15 minutes later, Turner received a call about a peacock wandering around a neighbor's backyard!  The bird unfortunately, had a broken leg, so capturing him didn't prove as difficult as the goat, after which the bird was taken to the city's shelter for further care.

And the best part, Turner's bodycam was rolling during the entire escapade!

We didn't know the Irving PD had a pet detective department!
