Usually any time someone plays the lottery, their first thought is about what they would spend their potential winnings on. Of course, in most cases players never get to live out their spending fantasies. However, one lucky person in DFW will now get that opportunity, as Texas Lottery recently announced someone purchased a $17 million winning lottery ticket in Dallas.
On Thursday, Texas Lottery announced they had a winner match all the numbers from their Wednesday drawing. According to WFAA, the winning numbers were 10 - 14 - 17 - 31 - 38 – 48 and the ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven located at 7650 Campbell Road. Officials claim the cash value option was selected, so the winner will receive nearly $9.8 million before taxes.
“If you have the winning ticket, we encourage you to sign the ticket, put it in a safe place, seek financial and legal advice, and call the Texas Lottery to schedule an appointment to claim the prize,” said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery. The prize is still yet to be claimed, so the winner will now have 180 days from the draw date to claim it. Soon, one DFW resident will be a lot wealthier.
