There are certain items that make music memorabilia collectors go nuts, and now a number of these items are set to go up for auction thanks to Journey’s Neal Schon. After years of collecting guitars, Schon recently announced plans to auction off his guitar collection. The auction will include over 100 of Schon’s guitars, including the Les Paul he used on the band’s iconic hit, ‘Don’t Stop Believin.’’

With Journey set to hit the road for the first time in over a year, and a new album on the way, the band’s co-founder and guitarist decided it was time get rid of some of his past and move forward. Neal Schon’s museum quality guitar collection will be sold at auction by Heritage Auctions on July 31. There will be a total of 112 guitars sold including a 1958 Gibson ES-335 Natural Semi-Hollow Body Electric, a 1950 Fender Broadcaster Butterscotch Blonde Solid Body Electric, a 1961 Gibson Les Paul SG Custom White Solid Body Electric and many more.

Of course, the crown jewel of this collection is Schon’s 1977 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Black Solid Body used on ‘‘Don’t Stop Believin.’’ According to Blabbermouth, Schon said the guitar "has quite a story." For any memorabilia collector, these guitars are a must have.
