Did you know there are kangaroos in Waco? We had no idea, either.
We’re sure there were some Waco residents had no clue as well, until a pair escaped from the Waco Wildlife Rescue earlier this week.
According to the Dallas Morning News, an employee accidentally left some gates open at the rescue around 7pm Tuesday night, and the kangaroos took that opportunity to just bounce away.
Police and firefighters helped corral the animals and were able to return them safely to the wildlife rescue.
The Waco Wildlife Rescue helps care for and rehabilitate about 800 injured or orphaned animals from across Central Texas every year.
