People just won't stop moving to Texas, and they seem to be heading out East of DFW.
According to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Kaufman County is the fastest growing county in Texas, and the second-fastest growing county in the entire nation!
Anne Glasscock, CEO of the Kaufman Chamber of Commerce, told NBC DFW, "Kaufman is a great place. It's a great place to live and to work and to raise your family. We've often said we have the best of both worlds. We have the country atmosphere, but we're close enough to Dallas that people can have the city experience as well."
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, since 2020, more than 52,000 people have moved to Kaufman County, and that between 2023 and 2024, the population grew by 6%.
Texas was well represented in the top ten fastest growing counties, though Kaufman was the only area in North Texas to make the list.
At No. 6 is Liberty County, No. 7 Montgomery County, and Caldwell County came in at No. 9.
