Breaking a world record is something many aspire to one day accomplish. Luckily, some records are easier to break than others, as sometimes people just need to show up to receive the honor. However, for the city of Kyle, Texas even getting people to show up has been a difficult task, as next month they will attempt for the fourth time to break the record for the largest gathering of Kyles.
On May 21, the city of Kyle will hold an event as they attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people with the same name. According to Fox News, the current record is held by a group of Ivans, who broke the record in in Bosnia and Herzegovina back in 2017. Now, the city of Kyle needs to collect more than 2,325 Kyles to break the record.
The only requirement needed to attend the event is being legally named Kyle. "Various iterations of ‘Kyle’ such as Kyler, Kiel, or Kylee, are not accepted," says a flyer for the event. Hopefully this year enough Kyles show up to finally break the record.
