Don’t be surprised if the moon looks a little different in the early hours of Tuesday morning. No, it doesn’t mean aliens have taken over the moon and are ready to attack Earth. For the final time until 2025, there will be a total lunar eclipse, and luckily for those in North Texas, they’ll be able to catch a glimpse.
Around 2 A.M on Tuesday morning, the moon will begin the initial stage of the total lunar eclipse. Known as the “blood moon,” the moon will appear red for about 1 1/2 hours as Earth passes directly between the moon and sun. According to NBC DFW, the total lunar eclipse will take place around 4:15 A.M.

Adding to the intrigue, Uranus will also be visible just a above the moon, resembling a bright star. NASA claims at the peak of the lunar eclipse, the moon will be 242,740 miles away from Earth. Hopefully this lunar eclipse doesn’t disappoint.
