A family of ducks has been reunited thanks to the quick action from the Lewisville Fire Department.
According to NBC DFW, the firefighters were finishing a workout on Thursday when they noticed a duck was standing near a water overflow drain, quacking loudly and swimming back and forth.
Upon approaching the duck, one firefighter discovered that three small ducklings had fallen into the drain and were not able to find their way out.
The firefighters worked together to retrieve the three ducklings and reunite them with their “anxious mother.”
Lewisville Fire Department officials said in a statement, “We are always glad to help our community, no matter how small.”
The firefighters also placed rocks around the edge of the drain to create a barrier to prevent future animals from falling in.
