Last week, the Dallas Mavericks punched their ticket to their third NBA Finals appearance, and the first for Luka Doncic.
To celebrate the Mavs' success, how about going out for some pizza? And even better, why not go out for the Luka Pizza?
At the beginning of the Western Conference Finals, Motor City Pizza in Lewisville began selling the Luka Pizza, which was inspired by Luka's favorite meal from back home, Potato Moussaka.
Owner Greg Tierny found the recipe in an issue of Sports Illustrated, which was shared by Luka's mother herself. He found that his Detroit-style pizza dough would work really well with the dish, and it has proven to be a huge hit with customers.
Tierney told WFAA that they sold over 250 Luka Pizzas from last Thursday through Sunday. And with the Mavs taking on the Celtics in the NBA Finals, we're sure they are going to sell a lot more.
The Luka Pizza includes layers of thin sliced potatoes, minced meat, seasoned cream sauce and cheese layered on top of their signature Detroit-style pizza crust, then topped with a garlic cream and fresh basil
