Member of Texas State University band removed from game after allegedly throwing a trident at rival players

There are very few things that bring out a person's inner warrior than cheering for your favorite team during a heated college football game.

The trick is to not let your inner warrior take control over your intrusive thoughts, or we could have more incidents like the one we saw in San Marcos on Saturday.

A member of the Texas State University band was removed from the game for allegedly throwing a trident at members of the University of Nevada football team.

Nevada introduced the trident last season, to celebrate whenever the team achieves a turnover.

As it turns out, like most awesome things you hear about there was some fabrication to this story.  Turns out the trident was just laying on the ground, and somehow made its way to the student section.

The Texas State band member did NOT throw it at any opposing players.

No word on why the band member was being escorted out of the stadium though, unless he was the one who actually stole the trident in the first place.
