For many actors, sitting through the premiere of their movie can be extremely stressful. Though the film has since become a classic, Michael J. Fox experienced this high level of stress during the premiere of ‘Back to the Future.’ Not only did he have to deal with the stress of the premiere, but as Fox recently revealed, he was sat next to Princess Diana, making for a very uncomfortable viewing experience.

Michael J. Fox stopped by ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ this week, and discussed his most iconic role. While not much is still unknown about ‘Back to the Future,’ the actor managed to reveal something most weren’t aware of; he did indeed once watch the movie with Princess Diana. “She was sitting next to me and she sits down and I looked at her and realized I’m one fake yawn and outstretched arm from being on a date with her,” said Fox.

The viewing occurred during the film’s London premiere in 1985, and while most would be excited to have royalty see their film, the proximity to Princess Diana, and a bathroom emergency led to a very uncomfortable night for Michael J. Fox. Hopefully, that experience didn’t ruin the movie for him.
