One of the most beloved steakhouses in Dallas has closed its doors after almost four decades in business.

Morton's The Steakhouse closed its Dallas location on December 31, after the lease went up according to chief operating officer Scott Crain.

Per the Dallas Morning News, the restaurant first opened in the West End in 1987 before moving to Uptown in 2011.

There are currently more than 50 Morton's locations across the United States, with four still open in Texas, and parent company Landry's is looking for another spot in Dallas to set up shop.

Crain said, "We are currently looking for a new location in Dallas," he said, "but until one is found, we encourage our Dallas-area guests to join us at our nearby sister properties including Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse, Catch, The Oceanaire Seafood Room and Saltgrass Steak House."
