The band responsible for one of the 90’s most beloved one hit wonders have decided to reunite after over 20 years of not playing together. The New Radicals, known for their hit song ‘You Get What You Give’ will return for the first time in 22 years this week. The band is set to perform at the virtual event for the inauguration.
Despite having a hit with their song ‘You Get What You Give’ the new Radicals broke up shortly after the song’s release, and have not performed together since 1999. “If there's one thing on Earth that would possibly make us get the band together, if only for a day, it is the hope that our song could be even the tiniest beacon of light in such a dark time," said the band’s lead singer Gregg Alexander. It is unknown if this performance will lead to others in the future.
Not many details have been released about the band’s upcoming performance, but Alexander said getting to perform during the inauguration is a “huge honor.” Hopefully no fights break out, and maybe it will even lead to a second song from the band coming in the future.
