Dallas was recently ranked as one of the most congested cities in the nation, and there really looks like there's no relief in sight for the amount of traffic we have.
Maybe the solution lays not on the roads, but above them.
Several cities across North Texas, including Dallas, Plano, Arlington, Frisco, and DeSoto, have expressed interest in installing aerial gondolas as an "Uber-like" cable car system to help alleviate some of our traffic woes.
According to WFAA, the vehicles would be "on demand," and would make no stops at intermediate stations.
Michael Morris, P.E., the director of transportation for the North Central Texas Council of Governments said, "Dallas-Fort Worth is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, adding more than 1 million residents every 7 years.
"We look forward to working with our public- and private-sector partners to advance the types of transportation solutions that will help us manage this growth and enhance quality of life."
