Winter is coming to an end, which means jackets will soon be stored away and heaters will be switched back to air conditioning all throughout Texas. For many, the end of winter is a good thing as they get ready for the warm weather, but for cold weather enthusiasts this time of year marks an end to their favorite activities. Luckily, a new business is planning to come to Texas that could bring winter activities to the Lone Star state year-round.

Alpine-X Indoor Snowsports Resorts is an indoor ski mountain facility backed by Olympic ski racer Bode Miller. The business is located in Virginia, but recently announced plans to expand to Texas. According to Dallas Morning News, the indoor ski mountain is currently looking for locations in Dallas and Austin. Not only will the massive facility include an indoor mountain, but they plan on adding a luxury hotel, a gravity-powered mountain coaster, zip lines, food and beverage outlets as well.

“We’re purposely making it to where really the entire community can have this great resort experience,” said Alpine-X CEO John Emery. While no official location has been determined, the company hopes to be in DFW by 2026. Soon there won’t be any reason to leave Texas, even in the winter.
