While a score of 48-43 might not turn any heads for a high school football game, two North Texas high schools recently combined to score that amount in a softball game!
The matchup of Irving MacArthur Cardinals and the Lake Highlands Wildcats ended up as the third-highest scoring softball game in high school history.
Per Chron, the inning-by-inning scoring broke down as follows:
1st – Lake Highlands, 11-1
2nd – Lake Highlands, 15-4
3rd – Lake Highlands, 21-16
4th – MacArthur, 37-26
5th — Lake Highlands, 45-37
6th – Lake Highlands, 48-43
7th – Lake Highlands, 48-43
Amazingly, only one home run was hit the entire game!
The two teams are slated to play each other again on Friday.
