As it gets warmer here in Texas, you’ll probably start thinking of taking a trip down to the Texas coast for a relaxing swim in the ocean.

The beaches are already occupied with travelers, however, and they’re not really known to leave a lot of room in the water for anyone else.

The Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network has issued a warning regarding the first manatee sighting of the season, with two manatees spotted in the same area in Corpus Christi.

According to MySA.com, while manatees are typically found in warm Florida waters during the winter, the migrate to other states, including Texas, during the summer.

The TMMSN wants the public to notify them of any manatee sightings so they can better track movements and migration habits.

You can notify them of any manatee sightings by calling to 1-800-9MAMMAL (1-800-962-6625).
