All over the country, people are struggling as prices continue to go up. While inflation rates have recently decreased, the cost of living in many cities is still on the rise. Sadly for residents of Plano, a new study claimed the city had the biggest increase in cost of living throughout the entire country over the last year.

Personal finance website SmartAsset recently conducted a study looking at cost of living in cities across America. According to Dallas Morning News, the study looked at economic data from 237 urban areas to determine rankings and found no city had a larger increase from June 2022 to June 2023 than Plano, Texas. Plano’s cost of living rose 9.5% relative to the national average.

“Prices in Plano are 21.8% higher than the national average, making it the 22nd most expensive place,” claimed the study. Looking at the first quarter of 2023, Plano had a cost of living that was 22% higher than the US average. Hopefully this changes soon so Plano residents don’t have to keep stressing about money.
