Plano residents have something to smile about today.  Really, it seems that living in Plano is enough to put a smile on your face.

A recent study from SmartAsset found Plano to be the second happiest city in the nation, only behind Arlington, VA!

According to the Dallas Morning News, SmartAsset evaluated cities by 11 different variables in personal finance, including well-being and quality of life.

Plano scored well in all of their metrics, which included "the marriage rate, average traffic volume, percent of households earning more than $100,000, share of residents below the poverty line, life expectancy, and number of residents who report being physically inactive."

No other Texas cities managed to crack the top 25.  The closest were Fort Worth at No. 38 and Arlington at No. 47.

Unfortunately, several Texas cities ranked towards the least-happiest in the nation, too.  Dallas was the 11th least happy city in the country, with Houston just ahead as the 10th least happy city.
