Report names McKinney the "most affordable" city in the U.S.

Those looking to find affordable housing in North Texas just need to head north on 75.

In a new report from The Motley Fool, McKinney was named the most affordable city in the U.S. due to its low cost of living and high median income.


The report compared median household income to cost-of-living data in hundreds of cities across the U.S. and found that McKinney had a cost-of-living estimate of $70,778 and a median household income of $113,286.

Per FOX 4, the report said that McKinney "boasts a cost-of-living index three points below the national average while residents earn a median income 52% higher than the national median.

"McKinney is an attractive location for mid-career Americans."

3 - Morristown, NJ
4 - Midland, TX
5 - Joliet, IL
6 - Hilton Head Island, SC
7 - Austin, TX
8 - Pierre, SD
9 - Surprise, AZ
10 - Minot, ND
