One of the most expensive steakhouses in Dallas has closed its doors but only “temporarily” its owners insist.

Nusr-Et, the steakhouse owned by internet meme Salt Bae shuttered its doors January 24 for what a spokesperson said was a “maintenance issue.”

Per CultureMap Dallas, the spokesperson said the closure is only expected to last at least two months.”

The steakhouse, which is known for its over-the-top presentations and gaudy prices, like the signature tomahawk steak which is coated in 24K golf leaf and costs $1,000, is still listed among the locations on the Nusr-Et website.

The Dallas location of Nusr-Et opened in March 2021, and was quickly met with critiques as being one of the most over-the-top dining experiences in the city.
