The gown worn by Marilyn Monroe during President John F. Kennedy’s 45th birthday gala and fundraiser at Madison Square Garden is going on display in North Texas.
The iconic piece, in which she performed a sultry rendition of “Happy Birthday,” will be on display at Ripley's Believe It or Not! in Grand Prairie beginning Friday June 5.
According to CultureMap Dallas, the gown is only part of an exhibit at Ripley’s called "Happy 100th Birthday, Marilyn Monroe."
Monroe, real name Norma Jeane Mortenson, was born on June 1, 1926.
Ripley Entertainment regional manager Rachel Rotella said in a statement, “Marilyn Monroe remains one of the most recognizable icons in pop culture history.
"With visitors looking for unique experiences across North Texas this summer, this is a rare opportunity to see Marilyn Monroe's dress that represents one of the most unforgettable moments in Hollywood history.”
The exhibit opens June 5 and will only be on display for a limited time.
