The skyline of Six Flags Over Texas will forever be changed as the theme park has announced they will be shutting down their popular Conquistador ride after its more than 40-year run.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the ride has been out of operation since last year due to the construction of a “record breaking dive coaster” slated to open in 2026.

The park has now decided though, that it’s time to say goodbye forever.

The park wrote on social media, “After exploring multiple options, we have decided that the Conquistador has officially sailed its last voyage. Thank you to all our guests and team members who have shared countless memories aboard this iconic ride.

“While it’s always hard to say goodbye, we’re excited about the epic opportunities ahead.”

Six Flags does not yet have a date yet for when it will remove the ride, explaining that it will depend on the construction timeline for the rest of the section.
