Sneaky Pete's a lakeside staple for visitors to Lewisville Lake for nearly four decades announced that it will be closing its doors next month.
Nick Mehmeti, who has operated Sneaky Pete's for more than 25 years, told CBS News they will be shutting down September 28 after the City of Lewisville declined to renew its lease.
"I got involved 25 years ago — it's been a great run," he said. "Unfortunately, we're not going to run anymore, obviously, but we'll get beyond this. There will be another business."
Mehmeti revealed that ten years ago, he offered to build a hotel resort, along with a new Sneaky Pete's at their location at Eagle Point Marina, but the city declined the offer.
Mehmet says this isn't the end for Sneaky Pete's, though, and plans on opening a new location, possibly in The Colony, though details are still being finalized.
