There are many who grew up in DFW that claim they knew Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan back in the day. Sadly, most of those people will now get to see just how little impact they truly had on the lives of the legendary musicians, as a new documentary about their lives and career was recently released. The film is now streaming on multiple platforms.
‘Brothers in Blues’ tells the story of Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan, from their upbringing in Oak Cliff to Stevie Ray’s tragic death. The film was directed by Kirby Warnock, who also directed the music documentary, ‘When Dallas Rocked.’ According to Guitar World, interviews by Jackson Browne, Billy Gibbons, Nile Rodgers, and Eric Clapton are also featured in the film.
“The first time I heard Stevie Ray, I thought, ‘Whoever this is, he is going to shake the world,’” said Clapton. The film can now be seen on Amazon, iTunes, Google Play and YouTube Movies. For fans of these DFW icons, this is one they won’t want to miss.
