They're on of the most iconic artifacts in movie history: Dorothy's red slippers from The Wizard of Oz.
Nearly 20 years ago, they were stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids. They've now been returned to their original owner, but they won't remain in their possession for very long.
The slippers, owned by collector Michael Shaw, were used for close-up shots in the movie, so he believes them to be the "highest quality" of all the slippers worn by Garland during production.
After being returned to him, Shaw then turned the slippers over to Dallas-based Heritage Auctions, who will send the slippers on a "world tour" before ultimately putting them up for auction.
According to the Dallas Morning News, the other pairs of slippers used in the film are held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Smithsonian Museum of American History and a private collector.
The tour of Shaw's slippers will take them through Los Angeles, New York, London, and Tokyo before they hit the auction block, though dates on when the sale occurs were not announced.
