Good deeds are a lot like voting these days, they do not count unless you post all about it on social media.
There's been a growing trend lately of internet personalities and influencers paying for complete strangers groceries and while the act is noble, and the strangers are grateful, we all can't help but have a little sour taste in our mouths, right?
Was this filmed strictly with the intent of garnering views and likes, and not because this was a nice thing to do?
Well, a TikToker named Amelica Goldsmith found out the hard way that sometimes strangers want to just be left alone, and especially do not want to become of your content.
Per the New York Post, Goldsmith went to the grocery chain Sainsbury in London, with the intent of paying for a total stranger's groceries, and she could not find any willing participant.
Goldsmith said in a TikTok of the incident she felt "embarrassed and judged" following the attempts, and even came to tears admitting "I'm just really overwhelmed right now, I don't know what's going on."
Not wanting to leave without doing at least one good deed, Goldsmith bought some pasta and sauce, and put them in the store's food bank.
