A cheeseburger and fries is about a classic American meal as you can get. Unfortunately, like most things these days, inflation and the rising cost of living has made it really difficult to enjoy those comfort foods we routinely would order not too long ago.
A new study from DoorDash set to find out where exactly in America you can get the most bang for your buck when ordering a classic cheeseburger and fries meal.
Irving, TX ranked No. 6 on the list, with the average cost of a cheeseburger meal at $15.53.
Austin, came in as the cheapest city for a cheeseburger, with an average price of $12.94.
Per FOX News, DoorDash said that cities in the South tend to be more affordable “because of structurally lower operating costs, helping the region rank well across both grocery and restaurant price indexes.”
Following Austin, the top ten is rounded out by Laredo, TX; Lincoln, NE; Detroit, MI; Philadelphia, PA; Irving, TX; Milwaukee, WI; San Antonio, TX; Chesapeake, VA; Saint Paul, MN
The city with the most expensive average cost of a cheeseburger was Anchorage, Alaska at $28.28.
