The Dallas Cowboys may be the most popular sports franchise in America, but sadly that means they have plenty of haters as well. Fans of "America's Team" often hear it from others that they have hopped on the Cowboys bandwagon, even if they're from DFW. Luckily for Cowboys fans, a new study recently gave them some credit for their fandom, naming them the best fans in the entire NFL.
Sidelines recently unveiled the results of a study to find the team with the best fans in the NFL. The study looked at eight different metrics to determine the rankings, including: social media followers, engagement and average likes, the average home, away and total attendance, the average money spent on merchandise yearly, and money spent on food and drinks at games. Based on the data, the number one fan base was the Dallas Cowboys.
According to WFAA, Cowboys fans had the highest average total attendance for both home and away games, while also spending the most on merchandise, food and drinks. Rounding out the top 5 behind the Cowboys were fans of the San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks. Now, the Cowboys just have to win another Super Bowl to give back to their fantastic fans.
