A trademark characteristic of the southern lifestyle is a laid-back approach to life. Unfortunately, that sentiment doesn't really seem to reign true across the Lone Star State
A study from financial website FinanceBuzz ranked the 50 biggest cities in the US to determine which have "easygoing vibes" and which are more prone to add to stress, and one major Texas town ranked dead last.
According to the study, Houston ranked dead last and is the "least laid-back" city in America!
The study cites Houston's "lack of leisure activities relative to population size" for its low ranking, as the city ranks among the bottom five when it comes to the number of theme parks, golf courses, yoga studios, and concert venues per capita.
Additionally, Houston's workers average an even 40 hours per week on the job, more than any other city!
San Antonio and Dallas also ranked in the top ten least laid-back cities.
FinanceBuzz says that Dallas "suffers from a lack of leisure activities relative to population size. Beyond that, Dallas is in the bottom 15 when it comes to the number of parks per capita, and workers in Dallas work 39.9 hours per week on average — the second-highest total in the country."
