For some sports fans, tailgating is just as important as the actual game.
Gathering in a parking lot of your favorite team’s stadium, bonding with like-minded individuals over smoked meats and cheap bear, it’s tribalism in its purest form.
And there is no better place in the nation to experience this phenomenon than the great state of Texas.
A new study from VegasInsider found Texas to be the best state in the nation for tailgating, earning high marks for its “football culture, enthusiastic fan base, and community-driven game-day traditions across both college and NFL teams.”
A spokesperson for VegasInsider said, “Texas’s leading tailgating score reflects a balance of affordability, access, and enthusiasm.
“With over 97,000 available parking spaces across the state and 15 major football teams, the data shows how deeply tailgating culture is embedded in Texas’s game-day experience.”
The top ten states for tailgating include:
1 – Texas
2 – South Carolina
3 – Florida
4 – Georgia
5 – North Carolina
6 – California
7 – Mississippi
8 – Colorado
9 – Louisiana
10 – Oklahoma
