Breaking the law is never a good thing, but sometimes a criminal pulls off a heist so difficult, even authorities are left impressed. That’s exactly what happened in Canada recently, when a thief managed to steal a Les Paul guitar from a store by stuffing it down his pants. Now, authorities have released footage of the theft and are asking for any information about the criminal still on the loose.
Back in December, a music shop in Toronto reported a guitar missing from their store, and now over a month later authorities have released surveillance footage of the crime. As seen in the clip, the man sits on a stool and places the neck of the guitar down one of his trouser legs before covering up the body with his sweatshirt. The man was able to leave the store with the guitar without being detected.

According to NME, the guitar was a Gibson Custom Shop 60th Anniversary ’59 Les Paul Standard electric guitar, valued at approximately $8,000. While police were hoping for information on the crime, so far the internet is more worried about how he was able to leave the store undetected. Hopefully this doesn’t lead to a baggy pants ban for all music stores.
