Bullying is something that sadly kids of every generation have to deal with. As much work has been done to end bullying, even today kids are still being picked on. However, one Texas couple made it their mission to help a boy in their neighborhood who was being bullied, helping to raise nearly $40,000 for the him.
A video recently went viral showing a boy knocking on Texas couple’s door and asking for help finding friends. In the video, Shayden Walker asks the Amarillo couple on their doorbell camera if they knew any kids his age because "he needs friends really bad." The video broke the hearts of many online, so the couple decided to set up a GoFundMe to help get him a gaming set, school clothes and amusement park tickets.
According to NBC DFW, the original goal was for $7,000, but after the video was viewed over 65 million times, the donations quickly shot up to $37,257. “We expected to see support from this community but we're shocked and amazed by how everyone's shown up for Shayden," said the couple. As the GoFundMe campaign showed, Shayden has more friends than he could have ever imagined.
