Every fisherman has a story about their biggest catch, but none can compare to the story two Texas anglers will be telling for the rest of their lives. That’s because the two fishermen were able to catch a potential record breaking catfish, and they did it with the bare hands. The 98 pound catfish was caught at Lake Tawakoni and while they are still waiting on the paperwork the fishermen claim it could end up being the biggest catfish ever noodled.

Noodling is a method of fishing where anglers use their hands to pull a catfish from the water by its mouth, and one of the best spots to do it is just outside of DFW. Lake Tawakoni is known as the "Catfish Capital of Texas," and two Texas anglers recently showed exactly why after pulling up a 98 pound catfish from the 378,879-acre fishery. "[We] swam in this hole side by side at 14 feet deep and got beat up by her. She was not happy that we were there, but we got her controlled and got her back on the boat," said Justin White, one of the two anglers who caught the fish.

According to Chron, the fish weighed in at 98.7 pounds on a certified scale. If confirmed, that would be largest catfish ever caught by noodling. Sounds like these guys will be eating catfish for a long time.
