Brake checking another driver on the road is incredibly dangerous and can lead to a major accident resulting in serious bodily injury or even death.

However, it is not illegal.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, there is no law in the state of Texas that declares brake checking another driver illegal, just as there is similarly no law declaring it illegal to tailgate another driver on the road.

However, is the act of brake checking leads to a collision and damages, it can be considered reckless driving which can lead to a fine of $200, a misdemeanor charge, or up to 30 days in county jail.
