Major turnover continues to occur in the workforce in Texas.
Once again, data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics found that Texas leads the nation in workers quitting their jobs!
Texas saw just under 5 million quit their jobs last year, placing ahead of second-place California that saw 4.4 million people quit.
On the flipside, Texas also has more workers starting new jobs more than any other state in the nation, with about 7.6 million new hires. California also placed second here, with 7.4 million new hires.
According to WFAA, these new hires and quitters were at the end of the period known as the "Great Resignation" that was initiated by the pandemic. The U.S. saw similar market turnover last year, but in 2022 California led the nation with new hires and quitters.
