39-year-old Felix Delarosa is facing charges of aggravated assault against a public servant after he got into a standoff with SWAT officers that lasted nearly two hours.
The standoff ended at a Lubbock motel when Delarosa was tear gassed and run over by a police robot.
Video captured by KCBD Photojournalist Craig Julio Iglesias showed the dramatic conclusion to the standoff, which included Delarosa attempting to cover the robot with a bedsheet before firing several rounds of ammunition at it.
Delarosa was wanted by police for violation of his parole by tampering with his electronic monitoring device. Delarosa was put on parole in April 2022 after being sentenced to prison in 2017 for manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance.
He was initially sentenced to serve 20 years in prison.
