A Colleyville man scammed out of $101,000 has had almost all of his money returned to him thanks to the world of the Colleyville Police Department.

According to NBC DFW, the man felt "pressured" to give up the cash after receiving a call from his bank's "Fraud Team."

Police say the scammer "used intimidation and fear" to convince the victim to purchase two $500 Apple gift cards and provide them with the numbers on the back.  Then, the man was convinced to deposit a $100,000 cashier's check into an account at a different bank while the "Fraud Team" conducted an alleged investigation.

The bank put a 5-day hold on the transaction due to the large amount of the check.  Colleyville Police Detective Jeff Prater was notified of the report, and contacted the bank where the deposit was made and had the account frozen.

Earlier this week, the police returned the $100,000 to the man.

Police say they currently have no leads on the identity of the scammer as they used a VoIP phone number which have proven to be difficult to trace.
