Almost every Chick-fil-A fan has experienced pulling up to the drive-thru only to realize it is Sunday and they are closed. Going one day without the fast food chain is hard enough, but that’s nothing compared to what one Texas town has to go through, as they are yet to get a Chick-fil-A. That’s why many were upset when a prankster duped the entire city into believing they were getting a Chick-fil-A with one simple sign.
Recently a sign went up on an intersection in Wharton, Texas claiming a Chick-fil-A location was “coming soon.” While many in the town got excited, it was later revealed there were no plans for the fast food chain to open in the city. Now, Wharton police have responded to the prank with some humor of their own, as they shared photos of the sign claiming they are “actively seeking information on the identity of the infamous ‘Original Prankster.’”

According to Fox News, the police department’s post quickly went viral, as many in Wharton were hoping the prankster would actually be apprehended. The viral post continued saying “A witness said this act was ‘Udderly heinous and heartless.’ The chief has allocated additional resources to find the source of this capital offense." Sadly Wharton still won’t get the chance to “eat more chicken.”
