There are some people that just can’t help but try to save any animal they see in the wild, especially when injured. However, sometimes these animals are meant for the wild and don’t react as kindly to the help as humans may have expected. One Texas woman learned that the hard way recently when she attempted to save what she thought was an injured lemur, but turned out to be a ringtail ready to attack.

Last week, San Antonio Animal Care Services received a call from a woman who was forced out of her own car by a wild ringtail. The woman had spotted an injured animal on the side of the road and pulled over to help it. "She saw the small, strange creature, thought it must’ve been a lemur, and used a towel to pick the animal up and put it in her vehicle," officials said in a recent Facebook post.

According to Fox Weather, the animal quickly became agitated once in her vehicle, forcing the woman to leave the car and call for help from the road. Ringtails are carnivores resembling a small fox with a long raccoon-like tail, and can be found throughout Texas. Hopefully the woman sticks to trying to save more familiar animals from now on.
