For many students, taking the SATs is one of the most stressful experiences they will go through during high school. While finishing the exam usually gives students a sense of accomplishment before they even get their results, a group of Texas students are now left with a far more stressful feeling, as their tests were lost when they flew out of a UPS delivery truck. Now, the school and College Board are scrambling to figure out how to resolve the issue.
Last month, a group of students from the El Paso Independent School District took the SATs only to have their scores compromised when their test sheets flew out of a UPS truck. According to KTSM, all but 55 of the exams were recovered. However, it is unknown at this time if the 55 students will have to retake the exam.

“Counselors are providing students, interested in taking the ACT, with waivers to retake the exam at no cost. Deadline is Nov. 4; exam is Dec. 10 at El Paso High,” said the school district. Not only are students and parents worried about the lost scores, but also the private and personal information on the lost exams. This is definitely not the start to the college experience these students were expecting.
